Driving Traffic to your websites !!!

Driving traffic to your website is the most difficult part of making money through websites. However if you have a proper game plan and use the right techniques you can hope to increase traffic every day by atleast 10%.
A website without traffic is of no use and naturally you will not earn anything out of such sites. SEO (Search Engine Optimization) means optimizing your site for better placment on search engine. For eg. Suppose you are looking for a free dating website at Coimbatore, a city in India. Then, you search for "free dating at coimbatore" on any search engine. Thousands of result are thrown out by the search engine but most users visit just 1st and second page i.e. around 20 first results. These sites are considered more relevent by the search engines.
About more than 80% of the users relly on Google search and its impotant to know how google ranks a websites.
Page Rank: Page Rank is a method adopted by Google to measure a web page's importance on a scale of 1 to 10. i.e. 0 is the lowest rank and 10 the highest. As on today has a PR (Page Rank of 10) and has a PR of 9. To know the PR of your website you can download the google toolbar available for free download at
Why is Page Rank important?
Ans: The better the PR, the better it ranks on the search engine results.
So how can I increase my PR?
Page Rank is measured by taking into account varies factors. But one thing which is important is the Inbound Links. Inbound Links are your website's links placed on other websites. Google ranks a page for importance. So if number of people are linking to your website, then that means that your page might be important. However, you should place such links only on related websites with good PR (i.e atleast 3).
These measures will improve your PR and the overall ranking of your websites. This in turn will drive traffic to your website.
Another way to bring traffic is through banner exchange or text link exchange programs eg. On these sites you can exchange your traffic for fresh traffic from other sites in the exchange.
You can also email to opt-in-list emails or safelists . These are people who have opted to receive such emails and cannot be considered spam. However one should not email unsolicited mails under no circumstances.
You can also post advt. about your websites on other websites, forums and groups. However, there is nothing like a top position in search engine, as this brings consistent taffic without any effort.
End of Part 3..

More means and doubts clarified !!

Begining of Part 2.

Lets continue from where we left:

Just to summarize in short - Following are the means one can earn through websites:

1. Google Ads - The Google Adsense Program

2. Other Advertisements - From other advertisers.

3. Direct Revenue - Generated directly by a website.

4. Affiliate Revenue - Affiliate revenue means, you place other website's or products ads on your website and you are paid as per tasks acomplished. For eg. If you join Friend Finder or Adult Friend Finder Affiliate program, you are paid when a user clicks on the ads on your website and join's their site through your reference. Some sites pay PPC (Pay Per Click) , whereas others pay PPL (Pay Per Lead), ie. per email ID entered, and many even pay Percentage of sale. eg. the matrimonial website in India.

I will be discussing each one of these in detail, in my blogs.

So if you ask me which one of the above means of revenue generating plan do I prefer?

I will say - why not try all of them !! Yes, you can try all of them and decide which one works best for you. This is because I earn from adsense more in some sites, whereas on some sites I earn from other means. So you should decide it on a website case - to - case basis, instead of applying a thumb rule.

Somebody at a forum asked me: Is it necessary to know HTML or register a domain and buy a hosting plan to earn money through websites?

The Answer is a Big NO. Not at all needed. Infact you can create websites with zero investment. There are many sites which provide free hosting plans. Or you can even start a blog like this one. You can go to and create your own blogs in a two minutes time. Later if the content you made is rich, you can also post ads on it.

The obvious question you might be having in your mind now is: After making a website, how will I get traffic to my website?

The answer is: You need to Optimize your websites for search engines like Google. This is known as Search Engine Optimization.

I will discuss some best ways of optimizing websites in my future blogs to come.

1.If you are looking for a source of income through Internet.

2.If you are a webmaster (Own a website) or intend to have one.

3.If you have the ability to dream and succeed.

4.If you want to earn handsome money with just a PC sitting at home.

If you satisfy any of the three conditions above, then this blog will change your life and source of income forever. First add this web blog to your list of favourites, so that you can read it later if you have less time now.

If you think this blog is about some ad typing, surveys, or data entry jobs which rarely pay and fraud people, you are wrong.

You asked "This blog is for webmaster's , so if I do not qualify for condition 2, still can I benefit from this blog?"

The answer is "Yes", you can.

This blog should have been named "Internet Income for Dummies" or "Work at home opportunities for Dummies", as it explain's every part and every step in great detail. If you are an experienced webmaster, you can skip the relevent sections.

A] Web Designing

Website designing means designing a few webpages in HTML, Java or any other scripting languages and putting it in a systematic manner.

Should you know these scripting languages to design a web page?

Not, at all. You can use a HTML editor (WYSIWYG) like Microsoft Front Page or Namo WebEditor. Microsoft Front Page comes bundled with Microsoft Office XP. Namo WebEditor trial version is available for free download at

If you can create good pages in MS Word or Powerpoint, then you can create good webpages using the above HTML editors or any other web editors.

So you can start by creating simple pages and later on try with some thing more difficult. You can also start with creating blogs. Blogs are just like websites and are very easy to create, just like this one. Just go to and start creating blog sites.

B] Source of revenue's for a website

1. Direct Revenue's: Direct revenue's are those revenue's which the website's generate directly. For eg. . This website works as a link between Buyers and web designer's. The website gets commission on successful completion of contract. Some other examples of direct revenue's are Paid Dating sites, Auction sites, Classifieds sites etc

2. Indirect Revenue: Indirect revenue's from website's mainly comes from advertisements placed on website's by others. Any kind of website or even blogs can generate a handsome income through Indirect Revenue. Moreover your site need not be complicated one or linked to a database like the sites which create direct revenue's. Your website may be of few webpages or it may even be a blog. Some example of these site are

Query: If I make a simple website, who will place ads on my sites? How will I be able to find an advertiser to place ads on my websites? I think this is useless!!

Google Adsense: Google adsense has changed many a lives around the globe and it is the most preferred revenue earning program for webmaster's. I will write more about Google adsense later.

Google Adwords: Google adwords is the life-mate of Google adsense. It is the most preferred advertising program for webmasters. (i.e Advertiser's here) People who wish to advertise their websites join Google Adwords and bid on keywords ( phrases related to their sites) and pay Google as per clicks generated to their websites. More details about adwords can be found at

Back to Google Adsense: Google diverts the ads received from Adwords program's to the publisher's websites who have joined Google Adsense. You just require to sign up for adsense and place a bit of code they give you on your website. The ads shown on your website will be automatically related to the content of the webpage. eg. if you have a webpage on Work at Home business opportunities, all your ads will also be related to the Home Based Opportunities. This is called contextual advertising. More details about Google Adsense can be found at

Some people after going through the adsense program ask me: What if I myself click on ads? Caution: Never do this, you will get yourself banned from adsense for life. You should try to earn income from a legitimate means and not by frauding google's advertiser's who may be just another guy like you and me. Moreover, Google has the technology to find out artificial or fraud clicks by logging in IP address, referrer's, Cookies stored on PC's etc. So please follow Google Adsense Program policies and see to it that you do not violate any terms.

The objective of this blog is that you earn money by using the Internet in a legitimate way.
